I’m so blessed to write this blog post.

As of today, I’ve officially joined forces with World Vision as an Artist Partner. I get to use my voice for a much greater purpose.

World Vision is doing incredible work. They serve almost 100 million people in nearly 100 countries around the world. They don’t believe in just giving a “hand-out” but rather a “hand-up” – empowering those in need through access to clean water, nutrition, education, economic development & international advocacy – all through child sponsorship. When you sponsor a child (for about $1 a day), World Vision reaches not only the sponsored child, but their family, their community & other children in need.

Even more, World Vision provides long-term assistance that is place-based. They believe that each community must be enabled to define their specific needs, problems & solutions. This approach not only builds upon the strengths of the local leadership, it also propels communities toward self-management. They don’t duplicate existing organizations but rather strengthen local involvement. The scope of their outreach covers everything from sex trafficing, to HIV, AIDS & Malaria, to agriculture to disaster response to food security to maternal & newborn health. They’re truly transforming communities & serving all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or gender.

As an Artist Partner I get to be an advocate for those who might not otherwise be heard. I get to tell their stories. I get to help my fans & my audience understand the great need as well as the even greater opportunity to be a change agent through child sponsorship. Check out www.worldvision.org – the site is filled with information, stories & ways to get involved & change the life of a child. It’ll change your life too!
